From side control, JT is going for the kimura, but his opponent is not giving the space for him to get his grips. First, his hand that would grab the wrist swims under the forearm and grabs the biceps. His other hand grabs the elbow and pulls the arm in, causing the forearm to point straight up. The hand should be in his armpit, so JT just puts his weight down to finish the wrist lock.

JT starts from the open guard with the cross collar grip, one foot on the hip, and one shin on shin. He kicks the shin on shin leg out, and sits up, bringing his free hand to the back of the head while looping his collar grip arm around the neck. Now JT steps over the leg and traps it, before closing his elbow and finishing the choke.

From the open guard, JT has one foot on the hip and a cross collar grip, while his opponent is working to pass with one knee on the mat. JT brings his free foot to hook in front of the ankle on his opponent's lead leg, causing his opponent to make a grip on JT's leg. JT grabs the triceps and kicks his hook out. Now he brings his foot up to the rib cage, pulls the elbow and pinches his knee down to finish the armbar.

JT starts with his triangle locked but just his feet are crossed. His opponent is protecting his arm by keeping it behind JT's hips. JT lifts his hips off the mat and grabs the elbow. His leg on the shoulder stays heavy and his other foot goes on the hip to help him walk his hips back. Now his foot on the hip goes to the rib cage and he closes his knees to finish the shoulder lock.

JT's opponent is playing the seated guard, so he makes a grip on the lapel and sleeve. He shuffles to the side of the lapel grip, and when his opponent follows, he steps over the legs to the sleeve grip side, with his foot landing near the hip. Now he turns his opponent like a judo throw, and immediately establishes the knee on belly position.

His free hand grabs the nearside lapel and he uses the grip to pull his opponent toward him. He falls to his hip and back steps his leg out of the guard, before making a tripod with his head and positioning his hips to pass the guard.

JT shows a guard pass he likes to use when his opponent is playing open guard. JT dives his lead shin behind his opponent's knee and his arm swims underneath the other leg. His other hand and foot are posted on the mat, driving his weight onto his opponent. JT swims his arms to get head and arm control, and his leg that is posting comes over the top of his opponent's legs and knee cuts to side control.

JT opens his opponent's nearside lapel, feeds it to his other hand between his and his opponent's legs, and switches to his other hand again. Now he releases his top hook and posts on his free hand, maintaining the bottom hook like a butterfly guard. He extends his hook, comes to the top and smashes the legs, before windshield wiping his legs to pass to side control.

He releases his bottom hook to the mat, posts his hand that was holding the ankle, and lowers his top hook behind the ankle. Now while doing a technical stand up, he turns his opponent hard with the collar grip to sweep him. JT immediately sets up his knee cut pass to finish the position in side control.
