Starting from the omoplata, Xande's opponent defends by putting his knee on Xande's belly. With his inside hand, he grips the bottom of the pants, and his other hand grips the belt or back of pants. Next, Xande stretches his bottom arm as he escapes his hips, until his opponent is lying on the mat. Now he can sit up and finish the omoplata.Add to Favorites 1228 Remove From Favorites 3005 days ago
Again, starting with the omoplata already locked, Xande's opponent postures up to defend. Now Xande extends his legs and squeezes them together, pinching the arm. Here he can sit himself up and lean forward to finish the omoplata as before.Add to Favorites 1405 Remove From Favorites 3006 days ago
In this series, Xande will cover many ways to finish the omoplata, set up the omoplata, and transition to other techniques from the omoplata. First he covers the basic way to finish the omoplata. Starting with the omoplata already locked, Xande stresses the importance of escaping his hips away from his opponent, and keeping his triangle locked with his knees pinched. Using his hands posted on the mat, he can sit up and push his hips back, before reaching over his opponent's back to control his body. Now he slides his outside foot back to make an S-position with his legs. By lifting his hips and driving his head forward, Xande can put pressure on the shoulder and finish the omoplata.
