Yuri shows how he likes to play the half guard, using the knee shield and controlling his opponent's cross lapel and sleeve. His knee and lapel grip help to keep his opponent at a comfortable distance so he can work for his favorite attacks from this position. Here he shows a sweep where he pushes the arm he's controlling into the body, and pulls his opponent's weight on top of him before rolling backward over his shoulder, sweeping him.
