Now back to sport Jiu-Jitsu, Saulo switches his hips to his side and places both feet on his opponent's hips, while keeping his collar grip. He raises his top leg up to the armpit and pressures down to break his opponent's posture. Now the other side of the neck is exposed so he makes a grip on the gi. Using his foot on the hip to create leverage, Saulo pulls his opponent in and stretches his body away to finish the choke.

Now Saulo shows how to use this motion to stand up in a self defense situation. This time without any grips on the gi, he turns to his side using the scissors motion and grips the back of the head. From here he can post his hand to help him do a technical stand up and control his opponent with his hands on the back.

To start off this lesson, Saulo begins in closed guard and looks to set up his classic guard position. With a sleeve and cross collar grip, he opens his guard, and without putting his feet on the ground he turns his hips toward his sleeve grip. Both feet go on the hips and his top leg opens to maintain inside control of the arm. Now he is in a good classic guard position.

Xande gets to the matrix, climbs on his elbow and looks to get on his knee so he can attack the back. But this time his opponent clamps down and holds his foot and leg so Xande can't take his back. Now Xande whips his back leg like a dragon tail til his knee gets to the shoulder. The momentum will force his opponent to roll and he will end up in a strong S-mount position.

When his opponent stands up, he wraps the leg and goes for the muscle sweep, but his opponent does not accept the sweep and tries to get back up. Victor now uses the space to pull his leg out and throw it over the shoulder to lock a triangle choke.

Rafael begins in open guard with a foot on the biceps and a foot on the hip, and 2-on-1 grip control on the arm. He drops his foot from the hip to make a shin-on-shin hook, kicks it out to force his opponent to his knees. Here his opponent will try to avoid the triangle by forcing himself in Rafael's closed guard, but because he is dragging the arm across with his 2-on-1 grips, he can easily lock up the side closed guard and begin working his attacks from there.
