Professor Rene's opponent is sitting up in butterfly guard with his arm across Rene's back, so his first line of defense is to grab the collar and drop his elbow down, preventing a good underhook. Next he posts his free arm far away on the mat, and his opponent reaches for the arm, looking to sweep. Rene now has space on the side to step his leg over into an S-mount position. From here, he pulls the arm up and swings his leg over the head to sit back and finish the armbar.

Rafael has the mount, and his opponent tries to bump, so he switches to a technical mount right away, keeping his knees tight to his opponent. He traps the arm tight to his body and secures it by grabbing his own lapel. His opponent now defends by clasping his hands together, so Rafael grabs the sleeve of the other arm and pulls it up. He places his leg under the triceps, leans toward the body to create space and steps over the head to armbar attack position. Next, he pulls the arm to him, extends his legs and pinches them together on the arm. To finish, he uses his other arm to make a "V" with his elbow on the wrist. Now he can lean toward the head to break the grip and finish.

Dominyka shows her favorite mount escape, which is especially good for people with long legs. First she bumps her opponent forward by hitting her in the butt with her knee. Then she cups both armpits and rocks her hips off the mat so she can put her feet in the armpits. Now she pushes her opponent off with her feet, and does a back roll to escape. She ends up a kind of reverse mount position, where there will be a scramble for a better position.

Next she swims her arm under her opponent's free arm, and traps it around her waist. Next, she posts her hand and picks her opponent up on to her side, and brings her leg up to trap her body. She brings her leg over the head, resting her shin across the throat and sits back on her butt. Now she drops her hips forward to put pressure on the throat and finish the choke. Here he has many options to finish the choke, including using his free hand behind the neck, sitting back for the bow and arrow, or staying on the back and rolling through if his opponent rolls.

Breaking down another one of his fights, Xande has mounted his opponent, and he defends by turning on his side to block Xande's leg. Immediately, Xande goes to the technical mount and grabs the cross collar with the thumb inside, and flattens him out. Because he didn't feel he had a great grip, Xande let go of the collar to open the other collar, and make a cross grip with his other hand. At this point, his opponent turned back on his side, so Xande moved around, placing his chest on the back. Next he reached his free hand over the head and opened the neck with his forearm to make his second collar grip. Now he could bring his forearm across the throat and go back to full mount to finish the choke.
