Tye has the sleeve and collar grips, and sets up the the arm in De La Riva guard, with his other foot on Kade's hip. He pulls Kade in and elevates him off his feet, as he would for an overhead sweep. Tye takes out his De La Riva hook, and pushes with his foot on the hip, causing Kade to fall to the mat with his back taken. Tye now can place both hooks and already has Kade's arm trapped as well.

Tye shoots his leg over Kade's arm to set up the arm in De La Riva again, but this time he is below the elbow and cannot do the armbar. He grabs the other sleeve and kicks out Kade's leg to break his posture. Now he raises his hips and shoots his hook leg over Kade's neck, and locks the triangle on him.

From spider guard, Tye raises his hips off the mat and shoots his leg over Kade's arm, and pushes the arm away before he traps it with a De La Riva hook. Now Tye swims his arm under Kade's arm and places his hand on his own knee. By raising his elbow from here, he can force Kade to tap from the armbar.

Again, Kade gets the underhook, kicks his knee shield and comes up to his knees, looking to sweep. Tye gets the whizzer and defends the first two sweep attempts. Going to his third option, Kade pushes into Tye, causing Tye to push back. Kade shoots his posted arm underneath Tye's leg to hook it, and rolls over his side and bridges to come on top to finish the sweep.

Kade is in his half guard and sets up his position the same as last time, by getting the underhook, shooting his knee shield through, torquing Tye's leg and then posting up on his elbow to get to his knees. But now, Tye puts the whizzer on Kade, preventing him from bumping him forward as he did last time. So instead, Kade reaches across to grab the far leg, and drives his weight forward, sweeping Tye. He lands in a great position to immediately look to pass the guard and establish side control.

Kade is playing half guard with his knee shield in place, and Tye is working to pass with a knee cut. Kade swims his arm in for the underhook and grabs the belt, and his other hand reaches for a pants grip. He kicks his knee shield leg straight, and uses it to hook Tye's ankle and torque it back, forcing Tye's hips open. Now he can release the pants grip, post up on his elbow and get on both knees. From here Kade forces Tye forward with a big bump from his shoulder, and comes up top to take his back.

Xande goes over what he calls the champagne pop. This is when he has the underhook and his knee cut, and is almost past the guard, but his opponent is still trapping his foot in the half guard. He is unable to release it by driving forward or kicking his opponent's legs. From here, he sits on his opponent's legs, pushing back heavy with his hips, and at the same time he pulls his foot to pop it out.

Xande's opponent is playing butterfly guard and has both underhooks on him. Xande's first move is to swim his arm in for the underhook on the opposite side of his head. Using his underhook, Xande drives his opponent sideways to the mat, and simultaneously breaks his hip so that his right hip lands on top of his opponent's right hip. Now he is back in his Escrima position, ready to pass by bringing his knee up and cutting it.

Focusing on an important detail, Xande shows how to maintain constant pressure while passing with the escrima. Before moving to the side, he brings his knees close and pushes himself forward using his toes. As he passes to the side, he continues to push forward with his toes, never giving his opponent space.

Xande's opponent is playing butterfly guard with both hooks, so Xande first picks a side to lower his head to, and pushes the same side knee down as he posts his leg out and gets a good underhook on the other side. He keeps his weight down to fend off any hook sweep attempts. Next he breaks his hip to the mat, facing the outside. His opponent will now lock up the half guard, and Xande is in perfect to position to finish the escrima pass as shown before.

Xande begins in his opponent's half guard, and his first idea is to get the underhook high in the armpit on the opposite side he is passing to, and to place his head next to his opponent's head on the same side he is passing to. His inside hip stays connected and putting pressure on the thigh, and his outside leg posts far out, staying open and distributing his weight. With his free hand, he reaches down and grabs the pants to control the leg. From here, he has the leverage to maintain his base and defend any sweep attempts. When he has the space and opportunity, Xande can begin to pass by bringing his knee up and cutting it to the outside, working for the knee cut pass.
