Xande now talks about the finals match in his weight class, in which he found himself inside his opponent's closed guard. When Xande stood up, his opponent swam his arm underneath to grab the far leg, causing Xande to fall and base himself on the mat. Xande kept his opponent at bay by making a grip on the belt and posting with his other hand. His opponent uncrossed his guard to attempt a triangle, but Xande kept a good posture, and his opponent let go of his leg. Xande was able to stand up in base, swim his arm inside the leg and finish the belt X-pass to side control.

After passing the guard in his first fight, Xande's opponent was able to replace the half guard, so Xande opted to go for the finish rather than pass for more points. From the half guard, Xande feeds the lapel behind his opponent's back and stays with his base low. He turns his hips toward his opponent to free his knee, and then cuts it to the outside. Now he switches the grip and goes for the choke, which causes his opponent to block with his hand, so Xande pulls the arm across and puts pressure with his shoulder to finish the choke.
