Robson starts from the full guard, controlling both sleeve grips, and opens his guard to escape his hips. With his foot in the hip, he pulls the same side arm, making sure his opponent can't make a grip. Robson now brings his other foot inside the legs to make the first butterfly hook, and at the same time, sits up, swimming his arm underneath the armpit. Now he takes the foot off the hip and puts his leg underneath his opponent's legs, as he shoves the sleeve grip arm between the legs, and lifts his opponent with his hook. Now his opponent is off balance, and Robson can start to work his butterfly techniques.

He emphasizes the importance of being able to change your pass at any point when your opponent defends. Here, Xande shows some variations he uses to transition between smashing and using the toreando.

Xande continues from the same butterfly guard sweep attempt by his opponent, but now focuses on changing his passing side. After Xande steps back to the negative side, his opponent released his tight overhook to grab the belt. Xande drops his head to the chest, reaches his arm up the back, and drives forward. As his opponent is falling back, Xande switches his hips and shuffles to the other side with his underhook grabbing the back. When his opponent tries to use his hook, Xande breaks his hips to clear it, and can now work to pass or force the half guard.

Xande now shows a butterfly guard pass that he attempted in his fight, but his opponent defended, causing Xande to change his plan and force the half guard as he previously showed. His opponent has the overhook, wrapping his arm up tight, and sits up to sweep Xande. First, Xande turns his arm down to control the hip, his drops down to the belly and his other arm blocks the shin. Now he puts pressure on his opponent, back steps his leg free from the hook, and walks to side control.

In his final fight, Xande faced an opponent with a good butterfly guard, so he knew that he wanted to force the half guard. First, he grips the pants and gets the underhook, and when his opponent tries to lift him with the butterfly hook, he keeps his hand on the back rather than posting on the mat. While he is lifted off the mat, he breaks his hip, turning it to the outside and freeing his leg from the butterfly hook. At this point, his opponent locked the half guard. Xande reacted by opening his opponent's arm that was controlling his own arm, bringing his knee to the hip, and flattening him out to force the half guard.

Xande has passed the guard and has his opponent mounted. Now it's time to go for his all time favorite choke. Pulling the lapel down, Xande slides his other hand down the neck, with his thumb inside the collar and four fingers outside. Next he traps the elbow and slides to the technical mount position. Here he uses his forearm to open the neck, and slides his other collar grip in place with the thumb inside again. He now connects his wrists with the forearm across the throat, and drops his forehead to the mat as he tightens the choke.

After attempting the previously shown half guard pass to mount, Xande now shows the variation he was able to use against his opponent. From the quarter guard with the cross collar grip, Xande's opponent bumped him and turned on his side to defend. Xande used his knee on the stomach to keep pressure, swam his arm in for the underhook, and his knee now dropped to the mat in a knee cut position. However, Xande was looking for the mount, so he made the cross face grip, turned his hip in and slid his knee back across the stomach. Now he forces his knee down and opens his elbow to control his opponent's arm. Using his free foot, he blocks the leg and helps free his other foot to mount his opponent.

In his second fight, Xande was able to establish the half guard, and decided it would be best to pass straight to the mount. Here he shows the position he tried to use. As he turns his hips to his opponent, he feels him pushing, and uses the opportunity to free his knee. Xande tries to go straight to the mount, but his opponent turns away and blocks the knee, so Xande grabs the cross collar grip and threatens the choke. Now he has the position to pull the elbow and slide his knee to the mount.

Continuing where the last position left off, Xande is on top in the deep half guard, and has the arm trapped, ready to attack the Kimura. Xande keeps the arm hugged tight to his body, and he leans back to create the space to slide his other arm underneath. Now he switches his hands, grabs his opponent's wrist, and then his own, locking the Kimura grip. His opponent is now defending by holding his hands tight together, so Xande shows two options to break his grip and finish. First, he kicks his leg straight as he pulls the arm back hard with his body, breaking the grip. Another option is to lower his head to the mat, roll over his shoulder, and finish with his leg on top of the head, where he can easily break the grip and finish.

In this series, Xande breaks down the key positions that happened in his fights on his way to Gold at the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam. In his first fight, he pulled guard and attempted a scissors sweep, but his opponent's base was strong, so he turned his hips back and went for an armbar. His opponent reacted by backing away, so still with the collar and sleeve grips, Xande tried to kick the knee and collar drag. To defend, his opponent stepped his inside knee up, so Xande used the momentum to sit up and switch from the drag to the single leg, coming up and finishing the sweep.
