From the closed guard, Mario opens his opponent's lapel as he did before, and his other hands slides deep in the collar to set up his first choking grip. Rather than wrapping the lapel around the arm, he wraps it around the back of her neck, and closes his elbows together and pulls her down to his body to finish the choke.

From the closed guard, Mario opens his opponent's lapel, and makes a grip over the tip of her arm, trapping the arm tight, and he pulls it to his body. Next he puts his foot on the hip, pivots and climbs his guard high on top of her shoulder. Now he controls the collar to keep her posture down, and passes his leg over her head. His outside arm comes across and holds his thigh, and his inside arm goes across her legs so he can spin underneath her. Completing the spin, he forces her to roll, and is in position to finish the armbar.

From standing up, Mario wants to pull guard, so he first makes a grip on his opponent's sleeve and then the collar. Next he kicks the shin, causing his opponent to take a step back and create some space. Now he brings his foot to the hip, on the same side as his sleeve grip, and drops down to pull his opponent in the full guard.

From his closed guard, Xande first breaks his opponent's posture, then hugs the head and traps the arm under his armpit. He plants his foot on the mat and escapes his hips to the side of the trapped arm, then closed his guard again. His elbow and his knee are connected on the other side of his opponent's body, and he reaches over the back to slide his hand in the armpit. His opponent reacts by grabbing his hand, so Xande pushes the wrist in and closes his triangle. Now he can raise his hips to bring the other arm across, and squeeze to finish the triangle.

Xande is looking to pull guard, so he makes the basic collar and triceps grips on the gi. A common practice is to put your foot in the hip on the same side that you have the sleeve grip, but in this case, Xande is more focused on pulling his opponent off balance as he pulls guard. So he puts his foot on the hip on the collar grip side, and lands in front of his opponent, breaking his base. Now he can set up an open guard or look to close his guard.

When his opponent turns, Bruno places his foot on the hip and his shin across the neck, with his knee pointed down. He pushes off the hip to get on his shoulder and bring his leg over the head. He continues to roll, forcing his opponent to roll as well, ending up in position to finish the armbar again.

Bruno is on his opponent's back with the seat belt grip, and when he opens the collar to get his choke grip, his opponent grabs his arm and pulls it over his head. Bruno immediately grabs the wrist and then his own wrist, like a kimura grip, using his elbow to block the head. Next he brings his foot to the hip and his other leg goes across the body. Now he can throw his leg over the head and lay back to finish the armbar.

From the back, Bruno opens the collar and slides his choking hand as deep as he can. He places his same side foot on the hip, and his free hand reaches to grab under the knee and pull the leg to him. Next, he moves his foot from the hip and throws his leg over the shoulder and closes his elbow to finish the choke. It is important that he keeps his chest tight to his opponent's body, as to not give him space to escape.

Bruno has the back, and his opponent tries to escape by jumping to the other side and freeing the bottom hook. It is important that Bruno does not let him move his head to the other side of his head. Using his free foot, Bruno pushes off the mat to bridge on his shoulder and bring his knee to his elbow. From here, he can sit down and make the space to replace his second hook.
