Nathiely starts in guard with a sleeve and cross collar grip, with one foot on the hip and the other in the biceps, stretching her opponent's arm away. She pulls the collar to bring her opponent down, throws her leg over the shoulder and locks her triangle on the arm. Next she sits up to reach over the back and scoots her hips away, causing her opponent to lay face down on the mat. From here, Nathiely can sit up to finish the omoplata.

Starting from spider guard with both feet in the biceps, Nathiely puts one foot on the hip and stretches her other leg, pulling her opponent forward. Now she can easily slide her leg over the back of the neck and lock the triangle with her other leg. To finish she simply pulls the arm across the body and pulls the head down with her legs.Add to Favorites 737 Remove From Favorites 2584 days ago
Nathiely tries to set up the choke and armbar combination shown in the two previous techniques, but for whatever reason, she is unable to finish either submission. Instead, she swims her arm under the near leg and opens her legs wide, swinging them like a pendulum to sweep to the mount.Add to Favorites 644 Remove From Favorites 2585 days ago
Same as before, Nathiely drags the arm across her body with two on one grip, and pulls her opponent in with her knees. She reaches over the back to grab the armpit, and then feeds her arm over her opponent's arm and under the leg. Now she shifts her hips so she can bring her leg over the head. Here she has the arm trapped, so she can just raise her hips to finish the armbar.Add to Favorites 813 Remove From Favorites 2586 days ago
From the closed guard, Nathiely controls her opponent's sleeve with a cross grip, and drags the arm across her body as she brings her own legs to her body. Next she reaches over the back to grab the armpit, and opens her guard to escape a little to the side before closing her guard again. From here she reaches across the neck to grab the collar, and releases the sleeve grip to swim her arm under her opponent's arm and behind her head. Now she just stretches her arms to finish the choke.Add to Favorites 734 Remove From Favorites 2587 days ago
Nathiely begins in the closed guard and sets up her armbar just as she did in the previous technique. But this time when she crosses her feet with one leg over the shoulder and the other in the armpit, she feels she can't successfully bring her leg over the head to finish the armbar. Instead she squeezes her knees and grabs the wrist, and pushes the arm to the outside to finish a shoulder lock similar to an Americana.Add to Favorites 819 Remove From Favorites 2588 days ago
In this series, Nathiely de Jesus shows some of her favorite attacks from the guard. Nathiely has won the World Championship the last three years at purple, brown (weight and absolute), and black belt. The first technique she shows is her favorite armbar from the closed guard. With a sleeve and triceps grip on one arm, Nathiely drags the arm across her body as she pulls her opponent in with her legs. She releases her sleeve grip to grab the cross shoulder, and using her foot on the hip, she swivels her hips enough to bring her leg up into her opponent's armpit. Here she uses the leg to break her opponent's posture, so she can swing her other leg over the head and finish the armbar.Add to Favorites 675 Remove From Favorites 2590 days ago
Again from inside his opponent's butterfly guard, Rene looks to pass to the mount as he did before, but this time his opponent blocks his leg with his knee. Rene cuts his knee to the inside, smashing his opponent's legs to the mat. From here, he can step back to establish side control.Add to Favorites 726 Remove From Favorites 2591 days ago
Professor Rene's opponent is sitting up in butterfly guard with his arm across Rene's back, so his first line of defense is to grab the collar and drop his elbow down, preventing a good underhook. Next he posts his free arm far away on the mat, and his opponent reaches for the arm, looking to sweep. Rene now has space on the side to step his leg over into an S-mount position. From here, he pulls the arm up and swings his leg over the head to sit back and finish the armbar.Add to Favorites 782 Remove From Favorites 2592 days ago
Again from the closed guard, Victor drags his opponent's arm across and escapes his hips, looking to climb to the back. But this time his opponent drives his weight back into him, so Victor swivels his hips and underhooks the near leg. Now he opens his leg wide and swings like a pendulum to sweep to the mount. Since the arm is across the body, it's easy for Victor to switch to S-mount right away and go for the armbar.Add to Favorites 668 Remove From Favorites 2593 days ago
Professor Victor is playing closed guard with the sleeve and triceps grip on one of his opponent's arms. He plants both feet on the mat and pulls the arm across his body as he escapes his hips to the side. He reaches over the back to grab the far armpit, posts on his elbow and climbs on top of the back. From here he shows three options to choke. He can either pull his opponent back to finish, jump over the back and roll, or drop his hips and finish from on top.Add to Favorites 564 Remove From Favorites 2594 days ago
Professor Kayan breaks down a few details on setting up the shoulder lock. When taking the back, it's important that he brings his bottom leg all the way up to the head, and even makes like a pillow for his opponent. When applying the shoulder lock, he keeps the arm hugged tight to his chest. He can also feed his arm through to go for the regular armbar as well.
