Again starting with the omoplata locked, Xande sits up into the S-position, but is having trouble finishing the omoplata on his flexible opponent. He reaches over the back, grabs the lapel and feeds it to his other hand under the neck. His hand over the back now grabs the other lapel so he can lean forward and finish the clock choke. Another option is to let his opponent free his arm, and then walk toward the head to finish the choke.Add to Favorites 1255 Remove From Favorites 2999 days ago

In this series, Xande will cover many ways to finish the omoplata, set up the omoplata, and transition to other techniques from the omoplata. First he covers the basic way to finish the omoplata. Starting with the omoplata already locked, Xande stresses the importance of escaping his hips away from his opponent, and keeping his triangle locked with his knees pinched. Using his hands posted on the mat, he can sit up and push his hips back, before reaching over his opponent's back to control his body. Now he slides his outside foot back to make an S-position with his legs. By lifting his hips and driving his head forward, Xande can put pressure on the shoulder and finish the omoplata.Add to Favorites 914 Remove From Favorites 3003 days ago
Again, Xande starts in the reverse De La Riva guard, bumps his opponent forward and sets up the single leg X-guard, but this time his opponent defends the sweep. Xande now swings his outside leg back underneath his opponent and sets up the X-guard hooks. From here, he can either drop his bottom hook behind the heel and sweep backwards, or stretch both hooks and sit up for the sweep.Add to Favorites 898 Remove From Favorites 3004 days ago
Xande starts in the reverse De La Riva and bumps his opponent forward, as he did before. He moves his hook to push the hip, his other leg goes underneath the near leg and his foot goes on the hip, and he breaks his opponent's posture with a heavy collar grip. He removes his foot off the far hip, and his opponent reacts by coming back over him, so Xande elevates his hips to sweep him backwards.Add to Favorites 1032 Remove From Favorites 3005 days ago
Xande uses the same setup as before to establish the Z-guard, but this time his opponent smashes his legs right away. Xande opens his elbow on the collar grip to make a frame against his opponent's neck, and his other arm posts on the mat. Xande starts in a reverse De La Riva guard, gripping the collar and ankle, and uses his hook to kick his opponent forward. When his opponent is off balance, Xande releases the collar grip to under hook the leg, and turns to his side, dropping his legs to make the Z-guard. With the leg tight to his body, he pushes the knee with his top leg to knock his opponent back. Now he can come up to finish the sweep.Add to Favorites 832 Remove From Favorites 3013 days ago
Maximiliano shows a position he has developed to defend the guard pass when his opponent knee slices. First he feeds the far lapel to his hand between the legs, and grabs the pants at the inside of the knee. From here, he uses his arm to bump his opponent forward, and then switches the lapel grip to his other hand. A common reaction is for his opponent to whizzer, so Max reaches his free hand over the back to grab the belt, and sweeps by rolling to his back. Once he has swept his opponent, he switches his lapel grip again, and grips the sleeve to control his opponent.
